Right Time for “Right Stuff”

Right Time for “Right Stuff”

Designed on the back of many years of experience with similar products and condensing that experience into a budget friendly and simple system that works for early intervention and at the the prevention of contractors and destructive postural patterns that can develop rapidly when time in bed increases.  The following images are slides from a presentation by Karen South, senior physio with the Wakefield Vanguard team who has kindly given permission for us to use them as there is no patient identifiable information. They show how the use of these products in combination with other strategies had a positive impact and made a significant difference to wellbeing and in some cases it meant a reversal in postural deterioration and the ability to return to sitting out of bed and all of the associated benefits.

Our Thanks to Karen and her team for sharing this and for the positive feedback.

Thermal Regulation.

Originally developed for NASA, Phase Change Materials (PCM)  absorb, store and release heat for optimal thermal comfort.

It is comparable to ice in a drink; as it changes from solid to liquid, it absorbs heat and cools the drink, keeping that drink at the desired temperature for longer, phase change materials work in the same way, but are micro-encapsulated to be permanently enclosed and protected in a polymer shell. This encapsulation process gives us a durable product that can be incorporated into fabrics which then have the capacity to absorb, store and release excess heat and to continually regulate the skin’s microclimate. As the skin gets hot, the heat is absorbed, and as it cools, that heat is released. It is not a wicking technology which manages moisture by reacting      to your sweat and pulling it away from the skin, it is proactive and manages heat while controlling the production of moisture before it begins. This is smart technology. For Right Stuff,  the PCM layer is attached to a Towelling material and used as an outer cover.  By adding the ‘cooling mantle’ over the existing Dartex to a standard product you benefit from the PCM technology as well as the established benefits of Dartex.
